If there was such a thing as an alternative music heaven on earth, it's name would be Edgefest. I've been to a lot of concerts, and plenty of music festivals. Hands down, Edgefest beats them all (so far). The lineup this year was amazing (UH-mazing). I literally cannot even put into words what an awesome experience it was to see so many good artists back to back for 8 hours straight. The venue was big but still small enough that no matter where you stood you could see, hear, and FEEL greatness.
I didn't catch all the bands due to bathroom, food, and beer/water breaks but the ones I did catch rocked my face off.

Karmin - Pulses Tour - House of Blues Dallas - 4.6.14
Genre: Pop
Good If You Like: Katy Perry, Kesha, Neon Trees
Songs to Listen To: Pulses, Night Like This, Brokenhearted, Look At Me Now (cover)
To say I was super stoked when Karmin announced they'd be doing a second leg of their Pulses tour and Dallas was their first stop would be an understatement. Although many people probably don't know who Karmin is (shame shame shame), I have been impatiently waiting for their first full length album to come out since I heard that little ear worm Brokenhearted in 2012.
Word on the street was the show would have a No Doubt type energy level and that it did. Even if pop music isn't your thing, there's no doubt this was a fun show (see what I did there). I was really surprised by how much Nick was involved with the show. I kind of pictured him as the Ryan Lewis in Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (aka stand in the back and work the DJ table). But he was as much part of the show as Amy with background vocals and instruments.
