I didn't catch all the bands due to bathroom, food, and beer/water breaks but the ones I did catch rocked my face off.
Smallpools
This was the first band of the day and I only caught the end of it. I only know one of their songs but it was the song they played last so it was the perfect beginning to a perfect day.

Grouplove is a little weird (dude, you have blue hair) but they.are.awesome. They did a cover of Beyonce's Drunk in Love that I had no idea I needed in my life until I heard it. The friend I went with (shout out Whitney!) compared them to an odd Japanese band you get tired of after 2 songs. I agreed and then continued to dance to every song they played.
Writers Note: After Bastille I didn't care to see anyone else. It'd been a long day in the sun and I was hungry (hangry if you will). I stuck around for The Avett Brothers and Cage the Elephant but my attention span was spent. I caught the one Beck song I know and called it a night.
Again, I only knew one song but they were really good. The thing I love about good music is you don't even have to know the song to enjoy it. It's even better when the artist sounds the same live as they do on recording. P.S. Homegirl ROCKED the pink hair.

Switchfoot
I knew that I knew a few Switchfoot songs (who hasn't heard Dare You to Move?) but I had no idea I was a Switchfoot fan. And maybe I'm not even a fan. But the vibe when they played Meant to Live was a borderline life changing experience. If you didn't for at least 2 seconds question your purpose on Earth you my friend are either super certain about life (and I envy you) or you have no pulse.
The second best moment during their set was when they played Dare You to Move. Not only because it was awesome, but also because my personal space was invaded by a sweaty stranger. The lead singer called for a "one love" moment where he asked everyone to put their arms around the person next to them. I quickly told everyone around me not to touch me, but homeboy to my left did not get the memo. Whether I liked it or not, I was one with a very short, hairy man tank clad man for 30 seconds (not a life changing experience).

Bastille
While Switchfoot may have touched my soul, Bastille definitely rocked it. I don't even know where to begin. Everyone knows their song Pompeii (but really should know allllll of them) and they closed the set out with it and it was great. At this point in the day (post) I am running out of synonyms for awesome because there was so much of it in this one set. I've never jumped in place or felt so free at a concert but something about this set did it for me. Or maybe it was that 3rd beer.
